An exciting summer comes to an end for Mathias Corvinus College (MCC) students who had the opportunity to study abroad with the support of the Training Grant Scholarship.
Nine students represented the Transylvanian MCC team in various professional programmes in different European institutions.
The MCC Training Grant, launched in 2021, gives MCC students the opportunity to participate in training, study and research programmes abroad. Candidates can choose from the programmes advertised according to their interests.
Through these activities, the university students can improve their language skills and broaden their knowledge in the fields of politics, law, economics, social studies and technology. The scholarship participants gained new knowledge at universities in countries like Denmark, the United Kingdom, Greece, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. The following students participated:
Orsolya Bálint has won a scholarship to the 4th International Bachelor Summer School for Climate Change Research at the University of Bern, Switzerland. During the course, the topic of climate change was approached from scientific, economic, legal and political perspectives.
Karola Kovács is participating in the 5th CreteLing Summer School of Linguistics, where she studied neuro- and psycholinguistics, but also attended courses on the relationship between evolution and language, bilingualism and more theoretical syntax. The programme was hosted by the University of Crete in Greece.
Edith Moldovan was a student of the Branding and Identity Design Short Course at the University of the Arts London.
Daniel Rotaru participated at the Scrutopia Summer School, a unique philosophy programme inspired by the life and work of the late Sir Roger Scruton.
Botond Szilágyi and Márk Végh participated in the Analytics, Data Science & Decision Making Summer School at the University of Essex. The course allowed them to study the relationship between optimisation and machine learning and to gain theoretical and practical experience in the field of data science.
Bence Tőkés attended an engineering course at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. The programme gave him an insight into Industry 4.0 and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
In addition to learning and research, the leisure activities also offered great networking opportunities between the international participants, and MCC students gained valuable experiences.
