Our guest speaker at the next Transylvania Lectures event will be Karen de Sousa Pesse, a digital advisor, diversity and gender equality activist, who uses technology to address societal challenges. Karen Pesse is a globally recognized leader in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and has applied her expertise at renowned companies such as Microsoft. Throughout her career, she has received approximately 20 awards and honors, and she encourages women to break through traditional corporate barriers. She is the founder of the social project DiversiBe, which addresses unattended social issues while creating job opportunities for women, minorities, and marginalized groups living in Belgium.

As a female business leader in Europe, Karen Pesse places a particular emphasis on raising awareness about gender discrimination in the fields of technology, healthcare, and the banking sector. Her goal is to shed light on the dangers of data-driven society and the consequences of the lack of female representation. With her expertise, she offers valuable insights into partnerships between governments and organizations, showcasing progressive developments in public administration and digitization.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Csató Lehel, professor at Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
